The No Kill Advocate E-Newsletter

The No Kill Advocate Issue #4 for 2006 is available by clicking here:

The No Kill Advocate is a free e-newsletter. In this issue:

Adopt No Kill. Conventional wisdom says you can’t adopt your way out of killing. But like so much conventional wisdom, this one is also wrong. And once again, it is the old guard, reactionary national agencies that are to blame for this falsehood. Adopting an animal means a shelter does not kill that animal. Not only can a shelter adopt its way out of killing, it should.
Saving Philly's Kittens. How did animal control in the nation's fifth largest City empty its shelter of kittens? Not the usual way. They did it by adopting them out.
Saving 95%. Last year, the Charlottesville SPCA - an open door animal control shelter in the South - saved 9 out of 10 dogs. They think they can do better.
Building a No Kill Houston. Come to the free conference that has been callled “a prerequisite for rescue groups and organizations that are serious about changing their communities to No-Kill.”
A Framework for Success. From involving the community to putting aside all the excuses, the power to save lives is directly in shelter management’s hands.
And more.
