Great Falls to discuss animal ordinances

City to discuss animal ordinances
Great Falls Tribune, Montana - July 17, 2006

City commissioners will hear Tuesday evening a new draft of proposed city animal control ordinances.

At a 5:15 p.m. work session Tuesday in the Civic Center Gibson Room, the commission gets a rundown on what new rules will govern the city’s cats, dogs, ferrets and other pets.

Slices of the new plan include these points: residents will be allowed to keep two dogs, but could apply for a special permit to keep more; leashes would not be required for cats, but felines would still not be allowed to be at large; and rules would be simplified for prosecuting the owners of a dog that barks too much.
