Humane Ohio, a non-profit group that works to find homes for homeless pets in northwest Ohio, has reached a milestone in its main program and is planning an way to help owners find lost pets.
The group coordinates Operation FELIX (Feline Education and Love Instead of Extermination), a program that spays and neuters cats that are strays or belong to families that cannot afford the procedures. On Monday, the program sterilized its 2,000th cat during its weekly clinic at Stautzenberger College in South Toledo.
